Do These Two Things to Prevent Negative Effects of Blue Light

December 11, 2021 by Jodell Raymond

We have all seen an increase in screen time lately due to virtual learning & remote work. It’s worth mentioning how important it is to protect yourself from too much blue light. Especially since there is no end in sight. Digital devices are here to stay & early, daily intervention is critical.

How much blue light are you getting?

This is because:

➡️ It damages our eyes. Current studies show that blue light emitted from electronic screens damage retinal cells. They believe this is from the higher energy level in the shorter wavelength of blue light, hitting the eye with greater intensity than other light sources.

➡️ It messes with our circadian rhythm.

Our suggestion is to get a pair of blue light blockers! Do your research. Not all blue blockers are made equal so you want to make sure you are choosing a brand that is truly blocking out the blue light. Ideally, you’ll want a pair during the day that blocks about 40% of the blue light when you are on a screen and then 100% blue light blockers in the evening.
