As a NH licensed Naturopathic Doctor, Naturopathic Childbirth practitioner, I have been very well prepared to work with the full spectrum of your family care needs, from birth onward. In 2005, I opened Whole Heart Healing Arts: Naturopathic Family Medicine and Midwifery, on Lake Winnipesaukee, in Meredith, NH. I currently maintain a full naturopathic family practice, specializing in women’s health care, pediatrics, general family medicine and midwifery.

Naturopathy: In my practice, I employ the current science and age old wisdom of nutrition and lifestyle counseling, herbal medicine, homeopathic remedies, and a limited scope of pharmaceutical agents, when necessary. I strive to educate you so that you are empowered to make solid health care and lifestyle choices that shape your wellbeing. When your choices are good ones, the healing power of nature works without obstruction and allows you to become healthier and to maintain a higher vitality.

Midwifery: I am affiliated with the Concord Birth and Wellness Center, so I can attend your birth at a home or in the birth center, where ever you find yourself most comfortable, as this is where your birth will go most smoothly and easily. I also teach childbirth education classes to help deepen your confidence, experience and understanding of your process throughout your birthing journey. My naturopathic background has trained me deeply in the safety and usefulness of herbs and homeopathy to maintain you in the low-risk category of pregnancy. I see pregnancy as a heightened state of health, not an illness to be managed!

My Background: I received my doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and specialty Certification in Naturopathic Midwifery at Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA. This required completion of five years of naturopathic medical school concurrently with the 3 year midwifery program. I was separately trained as a Doula at the Seattle Midwifery School, and also as a Hypnobirthing childbirth instructor. My hands-on birth training took place in varied locations including hospitals on the west coast, east coast and overseas, birthing centers, and homebirths. After practicing for 4 years in the state of Maine, I relocated to NH in 2005, and became licensed as a Naturopathic doctor, as a practitioner of Naturopathic Childbirth, and also became certified as a NH Midwife (NHCM). And in July, 2006, I experienced the wonderful home water birth of my daughter, surrounded by family, assisted by my husband and ND midwife.
